Creation 2024
MIRARI is a female trio composed of four rituals, each echoing a particular landscape ... a world of plants or animals, of water and woods, where nocturnal sirens and noisy ectoplasms, luminous avatars and retinal persistence follow one another.
Thanks to three yoga mats, sheets of paper and DIY lamps, we begin to enter the state of mind of a magician's routine: a set of structured passes that enable a magic trick to be performed.
Our passes are also those that our bodies have memorized, throughout our different experiences, since we started dancing; 10 years separating each of our stories in dance.
The small worlds of MIRARI do not rely on special effects, our bodies are at play with the power of imagination rather than that of pure illusion.
When reality and illusion begin to merge, it's always good to know you can say: Abracadabra! Mirari!
MIRARI builds on a choreographic script inspired by different landscapes (woods, rivers, forests) in which ARCANES paysages, a site-specific performative work, took place in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
With MIRARI, we reinvestigate the topic of landscape, this time entering the frame and developing more precisely the material of a gesture or the nature of an image to create a mental landscape where the body itself becomes a landscape.
Each of these four choreographies involve a ritual of installation from which a distinct scenography (of carpets, frames, lights, etc.) will arise, conjuring a poetry of the present. Ultimately, the lineage of the four rituals will dramaturgically make the body disappear: the fleshly dancing of the backs in ritual 1 is followed by that of ritual 2 in aluminium foil ponchos, completely covering the bodies. As if dematerialized, Ritual 3 reveals avatar bodies, embedded in a work of the artist Sascha Nordmeyer, consisting of three paper screens perforated with a multitude of small holes. In conclusion, Ritual 4, designed by Anette Lenz, gives rise to a single luminous, dancing line.
