By opening the \\u2018box\\u2019, Pandora unleashes plagues and curses upon the world, with the exception of \\u2018hope\\u2019\\u2026<\/p><p class=\\\"_texte_page\\\"><span style=\\\"color: #0000ff;\\\"><strong>PANDORE<\/strong><\/span> is a textile ritual performed as a duet, which uses movement to evoke the magic of apparitions. Two women, clearly bound by sisterhood, perform a naturalistic choreographic sequence centred on the folding and unfolding of various fabrics, themselves contained within furoshikis*<\/p><p class=\\\"_texte_page\\\">Through their interplay, they work to construct a shifting pictorial space, whether abstract or not. A continuum of precise gestures sets the textiles in motion, revealing various landscapes, forms and figures \\u2013 plant, animal or human\\u2026<\/p><p class=\\\"_texte_page\\\">A dreamlike space in constant transformation, where black and white gives way to a colourful tableau\\u2026 Pandora, or the dream of fabric!<\/p><p class=\\\"_texte_page\\\"><span style=\\\"color: #0000ff;\\\"><strong>PANDORE<\/strong><\/span> offers a first glimpse into the work of the Japanese filmmaker Yasujir\\u014d Ozu.<\/p><p class=\\\"_texte_page\\\">This duo is also, and above all, designed for non-dedicated spaces. It is aimed at audiences of all ages, from young people to adults.<\/p><p class=\\\"_texte_page\\\">*Furoshiki is a traditional Japanese technique for folding and tying fabric, used for wrapping gifts and carrying various everyday objects.<\/p><h1 class=\\\"_Titre_spectacle\\\"><span style=\\\"font-size: 18px;\\\">Intention<\/span><\/h1><p class=\\\"_texte_page\\\"><span style=\\\"color: #0000ff;\\\"><strong>PANDORE<\/strong><\/span> is a duet that serves as a precursor to a work based on the cinematic grammar of the filmmaker Yasujir\\u014d Ozu, in preparation for the quartet HIGANBANA, which is due to premiere in autumn 2027.<\/p><p class=\\\"_texte_page\\\">Conceived as a self-contained and versatile work, intended particularly for young audiences, this duo draws its inspiration from the world of the Japanese filmmaker:<\/p><p class=\\\"_texte_page\\\">In the second half of his career, Ozu\\u2019s cinema centred on the portrayal of the family \\u2013 a \\u2018pretext\\u2019 for exploring the passage of time \\u2026 and for focusing on an innovative cinematic form. Ozu also invented the \\u2018tatami\\u2019 shot (a shot framed at the eye level of a seated dog).<\/p><p class=\\\"_texte_page\\\">In his films, the family is often portrayed through the daily rituals of living together: eating or drinking, folding or unfolding clothes, getting dressed, packing or unpacking a suitcase\\u2026 all of which constitute recurring motifs, interspersed with shots of objects, landscapes or still lifes \\u2013 veritable paintings with meticulously composed frames that lend the film its rhythm.<\/p><p class=\\\"_texte_page\\\">At the crossroads between a study of the movement of family figures in Ozu\\u2019s cinema and his quasi-pictorial compositions, Pandore invents a choreographic form akin to a soothing ritual. A maelstrom of unfurled fabrics and simple gestures unfolding in stretched-out time transform this moment into a shared ceremony, a small elegy to the passing of time.<\/p><p class=\\\"_texte_page\\\">The set design, comprising in particular furoshikis (which originate from Japan), reveals a collection of fabrics chosen for their visual qualities (designer fabrics or upcycled materials)\\u2026 and deliberately left in their raw state, as a nod to wabi-sabi: \\u2018an aesthetic that advocates a return to simplicity, a peaceful restraint capable of positively influencing existence, where one can recognise and feel the beauty of imperfect, ephemeral and modest things\\u2019 (source: Wikipedia).<\/p><p class=\\\"_texte_page\\\">In Ozu\\u2019s cinema, everything revolves around the human condition, which is symbolised in Greek mythology by Pandora\\u2019s act.<\/p><p class=\\\"_texte_page\\\">For whilst Pandora releases terrible evils from the box, she retains \\u2018Elpis\\u2019, which we translate as \\u2018hope\\u2019 or \\u2018expectation\\u2019 but whose primary meaning is \\u2018waiting\\u2019 \\u2013 a concept that defines what makes us class=\\\"_texte_page\\\" style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\"><span style=\\\"font-size: 20px;\\\">Pour autant, il ne s\\u2019agit pas de retranscrire une \\u0153uvre cin\\u00e9matographique au plateau, mais de s\\u2019emparer de sa mati\\u00e8re plastique, architecturale, naturaliste\\u2026 pour tenter de mettre en \\u0153uvre une forme stylistique qui r\\u00e9pond \\u00e0 sa fa\\u00e7on, au concept d\\u2019impermanence (concept pr\\u00e9gnant au Japon qui privil\\u00e9gie l\\u2019instant, le caract\\u00e8re \\u00e9ph\\u00e9m\\u00e8re de chaque chose)*.\\u00a0La question du rituel, de la transformation dans la r\\u00e9p\\u00e9tition, de ses variations temporelles, viennent figurer des pr\\u00e9sences chor\\u00e9graphiques qui tendent vers l\\u2019\\u00e9pure\\u2026.<\/span><\/p><p
