Emmanuelle Vo-Dinh and Solenne Racapé directed Le Phare, Centre chorégraphique national du Havre Normandie from January 2012 to December 2021.
A creative structure whose main mission is to create and distribute the choreographic productions of its management. Emmanuelle Vo-Dinh's artistic project for Le Phare revolved around choreographic writing:
"Dedicated to contemporary choreographic writing, Le Phare is a place that shines, but it is also a place that guides and supports both artists and audiences, affirming the indispensable place of art in our lives. A “choreographic” centre is, strictly speaking, a place where dance is written which, unlike theatre, is often constructed on site, on the stage itself: it is written as it is created. This singularity, which makes the choreographer a true author, was at the heart of Le Phare's project."
The annual Pharenheit festival, created in 2013 in Le Havre and the Normandy region, has been a key part of Le Phare's project. Built around invitations for different artistic teams to take up residencies (studio stays) throughout the season, the festival has sought to create links between artists and audiences. It will celebrate its 10th and final edition in July 2021.
The visual identity of Le Phare, entrusted to Anette Lenz, has enabled the choreographic centre to enjoy international visibility through the various visuals created during this decade (posters, objects, screen prints, etc.). The luminous design of Le Phare's façade has particularly rounded off this collaboration.
